Hockey is supposed to be fun and we want to keep it that way!
WONDERFUN 2027 HOCKEY SEASON
Registration opens November 1, 2026, if we have enough volunteers to run the program!
Register NOW!
We Urgently Need Volunteers!
Wonderfun Hockey is run entirely by parent volunteers. Without your help, we can’t put kids on the ice this season. We need:
-
On-ice coaches to lead and support players during sessions. No expert hockey skills needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
-
Rink managers to keep each group organized, make sure coaches are on the ice for every session, and keep parents up to date on schedules and changes.
Please reach out if you’re interested in helping keep this program alive!
Important Season Information
-
Minimum registration: Each session needs at least 12 registered players. Sessions that don’t reach 12 may be cancelled.
-
Volunteers required: Each group needs on-ice coaches and a rink manager. If we can’t fill these roles, that group’s sessions may be cancelled.
-
Weather: Our outdoor season depends on the weather. Refunds aren’t given for sessions cancelled because of weather.
-
Health protocols: The season may change based on AHS requirements and/or City of St. Albert protocols. If the season is cancelled for health reasons before it begins, refunds will be issued.
Thank you for supporting Wonderfun Hockey. See you on the ice!

Who We Are...
We are a small community organization of parents that have been running an outdoor hockey program for children and youth since 1992. We play on outdoor rinks around St. Albert from the first week in January to the last week in Feb. It is a short season but the kids play twice a week for one hour. Best of All you do not need to be a St. Albert resident! We have registrations from Edmonton, Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Morinville, Legal and others in the greater Edmonton Area!
We provide a non-contact, fun environment for children and youth ages 5-16 to experience hockey the way it used to be played.. Outside.
Games will start on the first week of January. Your Rink Manager will be in contact with you in the middle of December.
Let's cheer for the good ol' hockey game!
